A Century in Watertown
Austin Law’s story began in 1926 when Perry F. Loucks established his practice in Watertown. Alan L. Austin joined in 1931, beginning a distinguished seven-decade legal career that would help shape the firm and inspire its name. Today, Austin Law continues their legacy while remaining firmly rooted in the Watertown community.

Perry F. Loucks establishes his law practice in Watertown.

Alan Austin Joins
Alan L. Austin joins Perry Loucks and begins what would become a remarkable seven-decade legal career.
1971
A Permanent Home
The firm's current office at 25 First Avenue Southwest is constructed.
2024
Investing in the Future
The firm begins a major expansion of its Watertown office and focuses on recruiting the next generation of attorneys.

Perry F. Loucks
Perry F. Loucks founded the practice after previously serving as Watertown City Attorney. His dedication to professionalism, service, and the community established a foundation that continues to guide Austin Law a century later.
Alan L. Austin
Alan L. Austin's distinguished career spanned seven decades. In addition to his private practice, he served in numerous legal, professional, and civic leadership roles and contributed to the development of South Dakota's Unified Court System.
